About my Images Landscape images come in so many different guises, and so many different thoughts and ideas behind them. Some photographers spend hours, days or even months planning images, and capturing them, sometimes with fabulously expensive and complex equipment and learned techniques. Others may shoot out of the window of a train or lift a mobile phone to something which catches their eye.
Being told something about the content of the image and what the photographer was thinking may also contribute to it's appeal or validity.
I think all that counts is whether the viewer finds the image compelling.
My pictures are often shot briefly, with little or no planning. Others, I have planned and anguished over. One thought I often have when shooting in my home county of West Sussex, is can I make a great picture almost anywhere. Do I need to go for miles and wait for hours? Can I be on a walk with the family and spontaneously find a great picture, just here - in the time it takes the kids to get bored!
