Shot on my iPhone at dinner while I was leading a holiday in Courmayeur, Italy. - stitched about 5 images in 360 app.
Content. I remember when I used to shoot medium format and 35mm film together for certain clients. Medium format for the main shots - with tripod of course. I would sometimes re-shoot these with 35mm for back-up and maybe to get wider angle or longer shots. I would then ad lib bit with the 35mm camera. Guess what - quite often the 35mm shots would end up being better. When there are budgets and time restraints, you can't always take the time you would like to craft the best shot with the big camera.
Now, though I'm shooting with '35mm' digital all the time, I still do the same thing. Tripod shots, and then hand held available light shots which take very little time - and again it's often these which capture the client's imagination - along with the main shots (otherwise I wouldn't be doing my job properly)!
One step further and I - along with anyone else who has a camera on their phone - bash off pictures for fun, using some of the photo apps available on smart phones.
This is where we are all heading. It's all about content. Finding something interesting, and getting the shot. I'm not a photojournalist and don't find this process especially easy, but just as this blog will need images as I go along, so do those of many other websites. There is still plenty of space for carefully crafted images, but for so many websites, it's about hoovering up content - to be changed again next week!
